Hild Borchgrevink
Future Echoes

For IN THE LIBRARY, Hild presents her project Future Echoes, a chain of letters between female writers in the Nordic countries which will run until this summer.

After the presentation, participants perform a similar chain. Before Hild leaves, she places this journal and a pen in one of the ferries servicing Nordøyane. It serves as a Norwegian «hyttebok», inviting passengers to continue the writings.

The etymological meaning of the word interest is literally "to be between", from inter "between" and esse "to be". Interest happens between human beings, between our senses and the world, in the peripheries or overlaps of concepts or ideas.

Hild Borchgrevink is an artist, writer and musicologist. Her MFA in Art an Public Spaces from the Oslo National Academy of the Arts in 2017 explored how public libraries forget and how we negotiate the peripheries of collective attention.
